(Can hardly wait to read your book!)

With respect to the two choices you put forth; of speaking up to disagree or keeping silence to not wreck your grade, I happen to know of a third option.

When I took Biology, I was required to answer things from an evolutionary point-of-view. Knowing the homework requested one thing while I believed another, I wrote up the homework with the answer I knew they wanted (and was needed to pass the class), but let the teacher know that it was not what I believed - just the answers they were looking for.

The result was surprising... turns out the teacher was a Creationist as well and didn't agree with the evolutionary teachings, but couldn't really say anything because that's what she was required to teach! You never know how things will turn out - which is why it's SO important to always be asking God, "Is this the right thing to do? Should I say something? Is this a time to be silent?"

See you soon!Ruth Cooper Projecthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06399825651836556909noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4274863118669136406.post-49397811411273369962010-01-21T15:29:34.493-05:002010-01-21T15:29:34.493-05:00Good thoughts; I've taken that physics class a...Good thoughts; I've taken that physics class and I've done the don't-ask-don't- tell as well, to my own shame.

We come from heartier stock from that - so why do we hide?

I think the struggle is modeled in scripture by the children of Israel ... as are all of our foibles, to some degree. I'm sure there were some who didn't buy into what their fellows were doing - but they didn't say anything either.

Except Joshua.

And God made him basically their king for his commitment to doing the right thing no matter what.

Good post.Jason Cooperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17993689043448707857noreply@blogger.com
